We start with a chat to make sure we are a good fit, and take a project brief. We’ll get to know you, how you live and/or work, your timeframe & budget, and most importantly your wish list of how you want the project to function and feel. Taking a clear, detailed brief allows us to really understand what’s important to you! It also gives you a chance to ask any questions you might have because any relationship is two way. Following our meeting we’ll prepare our Interior Design Fee Proposal outlining your scope of works, detailing our design service in response to your needs and fee proposal for you to review before committing to working together. Your initial investment for the discovery phase is $550.

So you’ve decided to work with us on your project! Let the work (and fun) begin. We start with the concept development stage or as we like to call it the “dream & scheme”. We’ll deep dive into your project brief, analyse, brainstorm, ideate, and interpret to create the visual story that will inform the design direction and feel of your project moving forward. It might include a combination of moodboards with inspiration images, conceptual colour projections and perhaps sketches to reflect the project story and your lifestyle/ personality. Because everything is personal!

Once we’ve established the feel for the project, the design development can begin. We assess your space (or plans), trouble shoot, and explore spatial layouts, materiality, colours and textures. We’ll refine, test and drill down into the details that will bring the design to life, engaging our many years of experience and knowledge to your project. We’ll then prepare, present and discuss with you the preliminary design drawings, floor plans and 3D concept renders, and share these along with material samples and other elements to get you really excited about your space. This is the time to let us know if there was anything you forgot to tell us about, and wait in excited anticipation for the final details to come together.

At this stage we spend time refining the details and creating comprehensive technical drawings and documentation. Depending on your project brief, this could include floor plans, elevations and section drawings, joinery detailing, materials and fixtures specifications, and lighting schedules. It is important to communicate the final design intent in a clear and simple way to everyone involved so that we can turn your design dream turn into a reality. I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to this stage because it means you can be confident that your builder and tradies have clarity and a clear plan to quote and work from, and everyone will stay true to your project intention from start to finish.

So now you’ve engaged a builder who is responsible for your site, their trades and project management. If you are after some additional guidance during your construction phase, we can offer our support to ensure the design intent is adhered to and your project is kept on track. This can include on-site visits, liaising with your builder and/or tradies on the details if required and trouble shooting when those unexpected site surprises may arise. Because while we love a well laid plan, we are also quick on our feet when you need us to be.

Once we have carefully curated, selected, and sourced elements for your design, we will provide a specification list of all elements. The odd client likes to go on their own from here, but most of our clients like to leave the process of procurement up to us. Because we handle the runaround including quoting, ordering, and delivery logistics for you. Saving you a load of time so you can sit back and see all of the goodness arrive stress-free.
